hello, monday! are you ready for me?
yeah? well, that's great. but, i'm so not ready for you.
warning: my camera got no love this weekend, so all photos were taken with my phone.

it absolutely sucks when the mister has to work on saturdays. granted, he rotates with others in leadership and only has to work two saturdays every six months, but it doesn't make it suck any less. and tell me why he chose two saturdays in a row? he went in this past saturday and goes in again this coming saturday. genius move, honey. don't be surprised if i high-five you as you walk through the door in the evening and i head on out for a moment for myself to breathe...as i take a stroll through target. alone. with a starbucks cup in hand.

because he worked on saturday, we didn't get any to do any of the stuff we usually do on saturdays {i.e. stuff that i would never do alone with all four kids}. so, we did our grocery shopping on sunday...and it took almost five hours. five hours, people. we hit grocery outlet, ranch 99 {our local asian market}, costco, winco and safeway. we were spent {physically and financially} by the time we were done. why so many stores? because i plan out our shopping trips so that we can get everything we need at the cheapest price possible. i have to honor the hard work the mister puts in every day to support us, and one of the ways i do this is by feeding our four growing boys well, as economically as possible.

while the mister worked on saturday, we spent the entire day at my dad's house with my sister and her family who were visiting from reno. we also had an early father's day dinner with my dad since this was one of the rare days when my dad, my two sisters, my brother and i would be together {with our families, of course}. my dad was so happy {and exhausted} to be surrounded by all of his grandbabies. even though it looks like liam would rather be doing something else {far right}.

wyatt is five and half months old. at his well-check last week he weighed in at twenty pounds. what in the? i don't think he got the memo about how big babies are bad for my back. and it doesn't help that's he's so squishy and makes me want to carry, kiss and cuddle him all day long. i still have trouble believing that this brick of a baby was only 6lbs 8oz at birth!

my mikey has got major skillz. and i'm not just talking about how he's so highly skilled at talking so much and so quickly without even stopping for a breath. he has mastered another, much more important and useful life skill. see for yourself....

Your Wyatt is like my babies! The bigger, the better... there's just more to love!
It's so hard when Daddy works weekends! At least you'll get it out of the way all at once.
I miss grocery outlets! Wish we had them here! Good for you for your stewardship in grocery shopping. It's such a task, but totally worthwhile!
Aww, Reno! Reminds me of shopping... We lived on the north shore of Tahoe for six years and made monthly Reno runs for Costco and anything besides Safeway. I miss it!
oh my dear your son weighs that much? lol i wish my baby weighed that much at that age. he's 2 and he's only 25 lbs. he's actually a bit underweight, but the dr. isn't too concerned since kids get a bit picky eating at that age. oh man he's so cute though!! lol i definitely know the feeling of always wanting to carry a cutie around and giving them kisses and squishing their adorable faces, lol.
I loved this blog! Your family looks like so much fun. What a great post. Can't wait to read more!
